About Me

Hey there! I'm Ray, a product design manager born in Brazil and based in rainy Vancouver since 2017. I found my way into product design through art direction and front-end. Design has been a source of joy and curiosity ever since.

Over 19 years, I've designed for e-commerce, media, fintech and education, at companies of every size. Today I lead a team of product designers at Thinkific, a learning platform built for scale. I care about connecting design to business results, and just as much about creating the conditions for people to grow.

Before Thinkific, I led UX at BuildDirect, a building-materials marketplace. At PagSeguro, I grew the design team from 4 to 15 and co-led features that help people reach their financial goals.

When I'm not working, you'll often find me exploring the great outdoors, immersing myself in thought-provoking podcasts, experimenting in the kitchen, savoring a good drink, or hitting the gym. What drives me most is understanding people. I believe work can be where you grow professionally, make lifelong friends and help build a kind, fun community.
